Therapeutic Touch (TT), was developed in the early 1970’s through the pioneering work of Dolores Krieger, PhD, RN, Professor Emeritus at New York University, and Dora Kunz, a natural healer. TT is a contemporary interpretation of several ancient healing practices. TT is based upon the theory that human beings are energy in the form of a field. When you are healthy, energy is flowing freely and balanced. In contrast, dis-ease is a condition of energy imbalance or disorder. The human energy field extends beyond the level of the skin and the TT practitioner attunes him or herself to that field from a centered state of awareness using the hands as sensors.

In this class, you will learn to:

- center & connect with “universal healing life energy”

- to feel your own energy field

- to feel the energy fields of others

- to “smooth or balance” the field

- and, to send that “life energy” where it is needed by the client.

TT has been widely studied and has been proven to facilitate a rapid relaxation response, reduce painful symptoms and anxiety, decrease wound healing time (even in bone fractures), assist in hospice, and is a support in many other aspects of healing.
