Learn a 15-minute routine that helps clients feel refreshed, relaxed and ready to turn to work. It relieves stress and tight muscles in the neck and back. It reduces the potential for repetitive motion injuries in the arms and hands. Seated massage is one of the fastest growing areas of bodywork nationwide. With increased awareness of the need for stress management in the workplace, and the need to decrease repetitive motion injuries, it promises to grow even more. Seated massage is also an excellent means of practive building tool.
During the two-day class, emphasis is placed on proper body mechanics and energy conservation for the therapist. Emphasis is also placed on marketing this technique.
Gary Gilbert combines his experience as a Registered Nurse and teacher, his experience in occupational health and rehabilitation, his hands-on experience in the workplace, and his knowledge and experience as an Advanced Rolfer to make this an effective class.
This two-day workshop covers the following:

Complete 15-minute seated massage routine

Adaptation for longer or shorter times

Specialized techniques for specific problem areas

Proper use, care and set up of various massage chairs

Incorporating aroma therapy

Marketing strategies
At the end of class you will be able to safely and effectively perform a 15-minute on-site seated massage. Students say they enjoy the relaxed atmosphere in the class, and the Reggae music. Wear comfortable clothing, short sleeves preferred. Handouts will be provided. |
