Music and Sound

Modern Physics give us a model the Universe as a ‘vibratory field of energy’ and, thus, all things are effected by sounds, music and their vibrations. In this workshop, we will learn a hands-on series of Therapeutic Vibrational Techniques, the importance and use of sound and music in the healing setting, as well as ways to incorporate sound in your practice. We will practice the use of Crystal, brass and tibetan bowls, tuning forks, and toning bars. We then experience the  Shamanic use of drums, rattles etc. in healing. Also, we discuss ways to sonically enhance your workspace acoustically and musically. Music in its variety and application will also be shared. A useful and informational class for those wanting to enhance their practice through the use of music, pure tones and sounds, and hands on vibrational techniques. The class focuses on four areas as follows:

Science and Application
In this portion, we unveil and put to use the ‘vibratory’ model as it relates to holistic health. We discuss the purpose, function and dynamics of the acupuncture meridians, chakras, and the auric field, plus correlate their physical manifestations and relationships. We then examine how sound, music and vibration create and enhance the environment necessary for healing and balancing these systems. (Mapping)

Toning – Bowls, Forks, Voice Etc.
Crystal bowls, brass bowls, tuned forks, tone bars, and the human voice produce pure frequencies and tones that heal and balance the human energy fields. Using these with intent, and knowledge of application, can create healing energy and potential like nothing else. We will learn and practice all the various methods of ‘toning’ that can be used in session with these tools of sound. A drum circle completes this portion (Bring your drum if you have one)

Tapotement – Percussion
Tapotement and percussing the tissues and bones are part of basic massage therapy. Vibration and tapotement can reach deep and affect the nervous system in ways other techniques cannot. Here we learn and practice all the various forms of hands on tapotement and vibration. Then, we work with drums and percussion instruments, and experience their affects as used in a healing manner.

Music – Chant
Music is a complex carrier of frequency and tone, and serves a great function in the healing arena. In this block we examine the varieties of music and instruments that affect healing and enhance the healing space. From acoustic instruments to electronica, we experience the feeling and impact of healing sound. The power of vocal chanting is also shared in its musical varieties. Find the music and feeling that best serves you and your clients.
