The Clinic Class is broken into 3 parts:
PART 1: 8 Hours of Class Lecture
(This is the only 8 hours you spend in a class room)
The first 8 hours of this class is your ‘job training’. In this class you will be trained on how the Healing Arts Student Massage clinic operates. You will learn everything from running the administrative duties, booking appointments, advertising, scheduling employees, preparing your ‘spa’ with the necessary tools and equipment needed for your clients, working with a large variety of bodies and personalities, assesing clients needs, how to handle a variety of possible challenging situations all under the direction of your supportive Healing Arts instructor/s and staff.
PART 2: 8 Hours of Administration
(You schedule yourself for the hours that work for you!)
Diligent administration work is the foundation of any successful massage practice. This part of the program is where you gain valuable experience and new skills by managing the administration portion of your ‘spa’. You’ll be managing schedules by confirming appointments and employee schedules, logging student clinic hours, making sure the clinic is organized, stocked and prepared for clients. Making copies, creating ads, taking phone calls, giving new clients tours and showing them around the clinic and walking them through the process, introducing them to their massage professional and making them feel comfortable and relaxed as they wait for their massage.
PART 3: 16 Hours of Clinic Massage
(You schedule yourself for the hours that work for you!)
This is the portion of the program that makes the planing and administration well worth your efforts! Here you will gain real hands on professional Massage Therapist experience with the public. This is a perfect opportunity to practice and hone your massage therapy skills in the supportive environment of your school and your peers. You will be giving 16 one-hour massages to. Besides gaining a fair amount of hands on training and experience, you will be receiving valuable feedback which will only mold you into an even better and more prepared massage professional.
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU DON’T WANT THE COURSE TO END?
Apply for our Internship Program where you can earn up to 100 continuing education units by giving clinic massages. (1 hour massage = 1 CEU) This is a fantastic opportunity for you to gain a tremendous amount of real hands on knowledge in a way that you could never get in a classroom setting. Here you are also able to take home your tips and hopefully gain a new client or two.
